Food and You

Have you ever put a lot of thought into your relationship with food, recognizing the complexities and individual nature of our eating habits? Listening to our bodies and making choices that align with our well-being is not something we all place importance on. However, to acknowledge the various factors that influence our food choices, including economic constraints, time limitations, and societal pressures, can be the first step in creating healthy change.

I’ve discovered some easy ways once you get started to prepare on-the-go and on-demand healthier alternatives to processed foods so that you can proactively manage your cravings while still enjoying treats. Being mindful of how different foods affect your body and adjusting your choices accordingly shows a strong level of self-awareness and self-care.

I always emphasise autonomy and intrinsic motivation for change because it resonates with the idea that sustainable changes in behaviour come from within, rather than from external pressure or judgment. Encouraging and supporting oneself, rather than shaming, is crucial for fostering long-term healthy habits.

Overall, a perspective that reflects a mindful approach to eating, prioritizing self-awareness, self-care, and autonomy supports transformation. Change is never linear, we take steps forward and often recede at times, this is still progress!
